PASSING UP PINS IN SAN FRAN

When Katy’s Dad asked if she fancied passing up a pin in San Francisco on a Davines Tour, Katy found them a trip to The Golden Gate Bridge before Keith had found their passports.

It’s no secret that Katy loves a stage, and has frequented many during her years as a Platform Artist and Creative Director. If you are looking for a head of Creative Direction for your next event, consider Katy as a highly experienced creative manager with experience within the editorial, advertising and large event landscape.

HAIR DIRECTION HEYDEYS

Katy’s Hair direction heyday was undoubtedly during her time with TONI&GUY as National Creative Director. During this time Creative Production opportunities were high frequency, some of her favourites included Hair Direction for The Australian Fashion Chamber in Paris and being a production assistant for Darren Borthwick at the Carla Zampatti 50th Anniversary Show in The Opera House.

In 2015, Katy also shared a presentation space with L’Enfant Terrible Jean Paul Gaultier for the AFC in Melbourne and Sydney, a real pinch me fashion moment for a Lincoln lass!

Without losing tempers or stilettos

Katy’s relationships with the entire back catalogue of Creative Team members still exists today, a testament to Katy’s heart led leadership, and perhaps a nod to why she was the longest serving Creative Head at TONI&GUY.

Presenting a decade worth of TONI&GUY National Roadshows from Cairns to Carriageworks, Katy has always had an innate ability to calmly coordinate multiple models and interstate venues without losing her temper or one of 100 stilettos occupying 90% of her luggage allowance.

Hairdressing Awards

Katy has walked a few red carpets during her time as a Hair Artist and also collected a couple of trophies along the way. In 2019 she was named AHFA NSW Hairdresser of the Year at the Australian Hair Fashion Awards, and most recently she was announced a finalist for 2024 AHFA Educator of the Year.

Under the Australian Hair Industry Awards Katy collected the AHIA Sole Operator of the Year trophy in 2023, and in 2024 has been named a finalist for AHIA Sole Operator and AHIA Educator of the Year! Katy’s recognition by the industry in both creative and business worlds provides further validation of her aptitude for creation, communication and commercial performance.
